I often work as a consultant on an hourly basis or retainer, this can be for advice on:
Investing
Property investment, and how to renovate to maximise your investment.
Problem-Solving
A specific issue or problem you’re dealing with in your house, but you don’t want to commit to a full design.
Advice on your space
General advice on a home renovation.
I can either come by your house, or I offer
2-hour zoom consults for $200.
There I can advise you on the best choices for your space, pitfalls to be afraid of, and point you in the right direction as you go forward
2. DEVELOPED DESIGN
This is all about:
Picking a specific direction for the project-based on the Concept Phase
Exploring this direction in more detail:
Materials, finishes, lighting, etc
Visualising new design:
References, 3d views, sketches, drawings
4. DEFINITIVE DESIGN
Finalising choices:
Materials, lighting, tapware, door hardware, etc
Documenting final design:
Creating a set of drawings clearly expressing the design intention
Getting into the details:
Finalising aesthetic drawings of custom elements (e.g. kitchen, cabinets, etc)
3. ESTIMATION
Reaching out to a contractor or quantity surveyor to get an estimate for the cost of work
5. INTERIOR SELECTIONS
Selecting furniture, decoration, plants, soft furnishings, art, etc
Exploring options for interior elements in regards to timeline, budget, and quality
6. APPLICATIONS & APPROVALS
Applying for any permissions needed to proceed with construction
7. CONSULTANCY DURING TENDER AND PROCUREMENT OF CONTRACTORS
Reaching out to known contractors for quotations
Examing the work of potential contractors
Aiding in the comparison of quotations
8. CONSULTANCY DURING CONSTRUCTION
Applying for any permissions needed to proceed with construction
Overseeing the work of the contractor and representing the client's interests throughout the build. There are often a heap of changes that are necessary throughout a build, and I will collaborate with the contractors to make sure our design intent is maintained.
9. INTERIOR DECORATION & STYLING
Completing the final touches so you can walk into a completed space!
